Best Practice Guides
The IMA in 2013 launched an initiative for the development of Best Practice Guides for each of the industry's sectors to inform stakeholders – it is envisaged each guide will grow and be enhanced over time.
The IMA started with the Best Practice Guide - Repossessions (BPG - Repossessions) setting out issues of compliance and industry actual practice into an easy to read document (downloadable from this page) to facilitate a more informed understanding by stakeholders of the actual processes associated with repossessions. The BPG - Repossessions is a benchmark and market tool for financial providers to use when choosing which agencies attend to their repossession assignments.
In 2017, following extensive consultation with members, the IMA issued its Best Practice Guide - Process Serving (BPG – Process Serving) which was not intended to be an operations manual nor a service rule or affidavit manual but instead documents what members regard needs to be considered and addressed by those wanting to achieve best practice standards in the Process Serving Sector.
The Best Practice Guides for Repossessions and Process Serving are available for download here.
Online Directory
The IMA's online directory of members is an essential daily tool for members and their clients. The directory is published continuously online giving details of those members who have consented to appear in the directory.
The format of the Directory is a modern, professional and user-friendly online publication. Members are able to list their details, corporate logo and the services their business offers as well as taking various options to further promote their business. Members and clients use the online directory to enter a postcode and determine IMA members available to service that location.
